About the Track Staff at Prescott Raceway

Larry Larry and Kathie Boardmanand Kathie Boardman:
What can you say about the Boardman’s, they have dedicated themselves to making sure that Prescott Raceway is the Best Drag Racing Facility in Arkansas and have spared no expense to do so. From the Track Surface, the Facility to the people that work there to make it happen, they want the best. Example: Some comments made about the States already Fastest Drag Strip surfaced so what does Larry do, he goes to work to make it better. Although a new track surface was not originally in the plan’s that is what it took and that is exactly what he did, the smoothest racing surface possible was laid. The asphalt in the pits has been extended, new drives laid, new covered seating areas, a food stand located inside the Pits area and fencing around the bleachers for safety. They research track preparation and methods to make it the best hooking track possible. When you see them in the pits or on the spectators side be sure to let them know how much you appreciate all they have done and all they are trying
to accomplish.

Larry Boardman     Newest Addition to the Boardman Family (Lady)

Stephanie Kelly will most likely be the first smiling face you see when you enter Prescott Raceway. She is friendly and very outgoing and always makes everyone feel welcome, she will help with any questions you may have when coming into the gates. Of course her job does not end there as you will see her performing other jobs throughout the race day and behind the scenes to keep things running as smoothly as possible.

You will also see Stephanie's son, Jared helping his mom out at the front gate, so be sure to wave and say HI!

Moose
Moose is the friendly voice you hear over the intercom during the races and his voice is synonymous with Prescott Raceway. You will see Moose walking through the pits before every race meeting, greeting and educating himself on the cars and drivers and with this knowledge he is one of the best in calling a race.  Moose, like the rest of the staff, is one of the nicest people you will run across so be sure to shake his hand and let him know what a great job he does.

Jeff is in charge of the burnout area and assist Rick in making sure that the track is always clean and safe for the drivers.  You will see Jeff working very hard when there is a mishap on the track to make sure its restored to its race ready condition as quickly as possible.

David is in charge of the staging lanes and keeps order of what sometimes seems like chaos. He is also the guy in contact with the tower to make sure the proper car information is relayed. And as sometimes everyone is forgetful you can count on David to visually look and make sure the driver has his or her protective gear on.  David like the rest is very hard working and a nice guy so let him know he does a good job.

Charles and Betty Socia are in control of the time slip booth and make sure that everyone exit the race track safely as well as many other various jobs that you don't see them perform during the races.  Both Charles and Betty are retired and feel like the racetrack is their second home, so much so that they spent their 40th Wedding Anniversary at the Race track on May 19th.  They are one of the nicest couples you will ever meet.  So please when you pick up your time slips or see them around the track be sure to thank them for all that they are doing.

Mordy

Mordy Higginbotham makes sure the return road traffic is under control and he is also the person to see when you need to purchase fuel at the track, as well as many other various jobs you will see him performing before, during and after a race. At the far end of the track Mordy is the first one on the scene to make sure everything is ok and offer assistance. Mordy works very hard and is a very nice guy so let him know you appreciate the job he does.
