He was born to Jerry Thomas Griffin and Jane Frances Smith Griffin. He was a graduate of Little Rock Catholic High, a self-employed paint contractor, a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, he loved motorcycles and Drag Racing, he was a member of Michael Browning's Super Outlaw Crew, he was a member of St. Theresa’s Catholic Church.
